Liedekerke successfully completes $85 million investment for Hydro-Qubec

A team led by Corporate and Finance partner Christel van den Eynden, successfully completed a $85 million investment for Hydro-Québec, a state-owned public utility enterprise based in Montreal, in Dana TM4, a joint-venture partnership established in June 2018 between Dana Incorporated, listed on the New-York Stock Exchange and Hydro-Québec, the fourth largest hydropower producer in the world. Dana TM4 is active in the development of electric vehicle motors and related power systems. Since June 2018, Hydro-Québec has held a 45% interest in subsidiary Dana TM4 as part of this strategic partnership with Dana Incorporated, which has generated many economic benefits for Québec since then, in particular the creation of some 30 new high-quality jobs, and an increase of 40% of Dana TM4’s sales.
With this $85 million investment which will allow Hydro-Québec to maintain its 45% interest in Dana TM4, the company hopes to keep growing the partnership with Dana and to seize new global opportunities in the field of transportation electrification, while continuing to promote its expertise in electrification thus contributing to the energy transition
Corporate and M&A Senior attorney Jan Vreys, Jakob Mulier and Stefanie Vinck formed the team led by Christel Van den Eynden to advise Hydro-Québec.
