Liedekerke promotes Senior Associates Cline Tallier and Thomas Vanthournout to Counsel

Liedekerke is delighted to announce the promotion of Céline Tallier and Thomas Vanthournout to Counsel, effective from 1 January 2022. Based in the Brussels office, Céline and Thomas are both members of the Corporate and Finance practice and joined the firm respectively in 2018 and 2021.

Admitted to the Brussels Bar since 2007, Céline focuses on corporate law. She mainly advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions and the setting up of investment funds.

She advises start-ups and SMEs as well as international groups and listed companies. 

Céline graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (2006) and holds a postgraduate degree in financial law from the University of Ghent (UGent) (2007).

Before joining Liedekerke in 2018, Céline worked in two international law firms for more than ten years.

Thomas’ practice covers all aspects of banking and finance law, with a particular focus on acquisition finance, real estate finance, and project finance. He has extensive experience representing a wide range of financial institutions, alternative lenders, private equity houses and corporate borrowers on domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

Thomas holds a law degree from Ghent University (magna cum laude, 2012), and spent a semester at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland as part of an Erasmus exchange program. He obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Financial Law from King’s College London (2013) and also holds a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from KU Leuven (summa cum laude, 2021).

Before joining Liedekerke in 2021, Thomas worked in the Brussels, Amsterdam and London offices of an international law firm for more than seven years and has also been seconded as legal counsel to BNP Paribas Fortis in Brussels.

Thomas was recommended as a key lawyer in the area of banking and finance by the 2020 and 2021 editions of The Legal 500.
