Liedekerke contributes to the European Arbitration Review 2022 Guide

Arnaud Nuyts (Partner) and ) Bruno Hardy (Senior Associate) of our International Arbitration practice contributed to the GAR’s European Arbitration Review 2022 with the Chapter Overview: Construction Arbitration in Europe. Their contribution covers the main trends in international construction arbitration in Europe, and initiatives aimed at addressing users’ concerns for more efficiency in the field.

Arnaud and Bruno examined, amongst others, the trends in construction disputes in the United Kingdom and in continental Europe in 2020, the arbitration community’s response to the challenge of the pandemic, the impact of the covid-19 health crisis on the construction industry and dispute resolution, the possible mechanisms to address users’ need for quick (even if interim) dispute resolution, and the adoption of methods from civil and common law to meet users’ desire for proportionality and predictability in construction arbitration in Europe
