Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick consolidates its Corporate and M&A capabilities with the arrival of Damien Conem.

Damien Conem has extensive expertise in cross-border mergers and acquisitions (including for venture capital and private equity players), equity capital market transactions and group (re)structuring (outside insolvency). He is appreciated for his expertise, his practical knowledge and his pragmatic, deal-oriented approach by market players, both in Belgium and abroad.

Damien will also be contributing to further developing the M&A practice of Liedekerke’s Africa Desk, whose members have now been actively involved across Africa for over 20 years in international disputes and large-scale commercial transactions involving established players on the continent.

Damien Conem is admitted to both the Brussels and New York Bars. He graduated in law from the University of Louvain (UCL – 1998). He also holds a Master degree in Business Administration from Antwerp University (UA – 1999) and an LL.M. (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) from Columbia University (New York – 2002).

Thierry Tilquin, who heads up Liedekerke’s Corporate and Finance group, is enthusiastic: "We’re very excited about Damien taking up a position within our team. His arrival is part of the forward growth strategy of Liedekerke’s Corporate and Finance department. He’s a dynamic, client-centric lawyer. His great experience of cross-border transactions, both in M&A and in capital markets transactions, areas in which our team can pride itself on having an unequalled experience and ability to meet the growing needs of national and international clients, comes at the right time."
