Christel Van den Eynden is a Partner in the Corporate and Finance Practice Group.
She advises international and national clients (listed and non-listed companies) on (cross-border) mergers & acquisitions, and private equity investments, and has built up an extensive practice in project financed transactions, PPP and complex industrial projects, mostly in infrastructure, energy and renewables, and logistics.
Christel advises clients in a wide variety of sectors, including the retail sector and food industry, automotive industry, logistics and port-related activities, the energy and green energy sector, (petro)chemicals, biotechnology and life sciences sector, the financial and payment services sector, the IT and high tech sector, hospitality and entertainment sector. She has particular expertise in cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and infrastructure projects. She also advises clients on issues of corporate governance, directors’ liability and issues of general corporate law.
In addition to her law degree from the University of Antwerp (UA 1987), Christel has a master of arts in international relations from Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (Bologna, Italy, and Washington D.C.), for which she obtained a Fulbright Scholarship. Christel sits on the selection committee of the Fulbright US-Belgium exchange commission awarding scholarships to master degree students in law.
Christel joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 1999.

Representing a US subsidiary of a Japanese listed company to acquire a distributor of power tools that is based on Belgium and has subsidiaries in 11 countries;

Representing an independent music publishing company in the purchase of a Belgian company holding a catalogue of music rights and that is also active via subsidiaries on the French and UK market;

Assisting a securities market operator in connection with the Belgian law aspects of the acquisition of a 66% interest in the second largest power market in Europe, offering trading, clearing, settlement and associated services in both intraday and day-ahead physical markets across 14 European countries, notably in the Nordic and Baltic regions;

Assisting the Belgian subsidiary of a French listed waste management services company in various cross-border transactions;

Advising Belgium’s largest telecommunications company when acquiring a French company specialised in real-time traffic information for car navigation systems;

Handling the acquisition of a Belgian software development company on behalf of a Dutch ERP software company.
