Sarah van den Brande is part of the IP, IT & Data team.
Sarah specialises in Intellectual Property with a particular focus on copyright, trademarks and designs. Her practice also involves general commercial and contract law, with a focus on market practices, as well as Data Protection.
Her practice covers a range of sectors, such as the software and technological industry, the media, the artist and fashion scene and consumer goods.
An experienced litigator in complex cases, she also provides advice on strategically protecting intellectual property and know-how. Throughout the years, she has acquired a broad expertise in drafting and negotiating IP-IT related agreements, particularly patent, trademark and software licensing agreements.
She is a member of several professional associations in Intellectual Property, such as the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Benelux Trademark and Industrial Design Association (BMM) and the Belgian Copyright Association (ADA).
Sarah holds a law degree from the University of Ghent (2006) and a LLM. in Intellectual Property from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven/KU Brussels 2007). In addition, she specialised in copyright at Harvard University (2015) and in Washington, DC at the WIPO (UN World Intellectual Property Organisation) (2013).
Sarah is a member of the Brussels bar. She joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 2019 and became partner in 2022.
