Jan Vincent Lindemans specialises in banking, finance and insolvency law. He regularly assists domestic and foreign banks and financial institutions or companies in respect of debt financing and the restructuring of such debts. He is also active in the field of corporate and banking litigation (banking, credit and investment services liability; bankruptcy related matters including directors’ liability).

He worked as in-house legal counsel at KBC Bank (Kredietbank) from 1987 to 1990.

Jan Vincent graduated in law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven 1984) and was part of the European Young Lawyers Scheme (King’s College London 1991).

He joined Liedekerke as a Partner in 1999 and he currently heads the Banking & Finance practice.

Recent matters

  • Representing a German bank in the renegotiation of several property loans granted to (the Belgian entities of) a pan-European real estate fund.
  • Assisting an international property fund in the negotiation of a standstill agreement in respect of a €150,000,000 syndicated property loan, after a breach of several property related covenants.
  • Assisting a German listed company and its Belgian subsidiaries in their negotiations with a syndicate of banks in relation to a refinancing facility.
  • Assisting a Belgian group in respect of the negotiation of a €52,000,000 syndicated credit facility and related security scheme.
