Béatrice Toussaint coordinates the Insurance and Liability team. She focuses her activities on insurance law after having gained extensive experience in corporate law. Her practice areas are either specific to insurance products (drafting of policies, opinion on the coverage of complex claims, interventions as monitoring counsel in the follow-up of proceedings or as counsel in mediation or litigation matters,…), or specific to the insurance company itself (legislation on the supervision of insurance and reinsurance companies, reorganization, transfer of portfolio or part of the activity, acquisition, joint venture between an insurance company and a credit institution,…) or to insurance intermediaries called upon by the insurance company or the insured (liability, contracts,…).

She holds a law degree from the University of Louvain (UCL 1989), obtained a specific degree in European law from the Institute for European Studies from the University of Brussels (ULB) and a specific degree in insurance law and economics (UCL). She received a scholarship from the British Council to attend the “European Young Lawyers Course” (King’s College London) and she was trained in the management of insurance companies organized by ICHEC Brussels Management School (ICHEC). She also followed a two years evening course in mediation (UCL and University of St Louis). She is the author of publications in the field of insurance law and is recognized as an insurance expert in Who’s Who legal. She is an accredited mediator (civil and commercial) and a collaborative lawyer.

Béatrice is a lawyer at the Brussels Bar since 1991 and joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 2012.
