Julie De Bonnet is part of Real Estate Practice. Her work encompasses all aspects of real estate law, such as sale/acquisitions operations, sale and leaseback transactions, leases and other occupancy rights, with a particular expertise in commercial leases for shopping malls- and retail parks-owners.
She has particular experience in handling large real estate transactions, handling both estate asset deals (“asset deals”) and corporate real estate deals (“share deals”) as well as commercial and retail development projects. She also assists on advising and conducting litigations concerning general real estate disputes and litigations (claims concerning construction works, tenant’s disputes, and judicial expertise).
Julie holds a law degree from the University of Louvain (UCL 2007). Julie also holds a complementary Master in European law from the European Studies Institute of the University of Brussels (ULB 2008). She followed in addition a Real Estate Executive Master at the Louvain School of Management (UCL 11/2013-06/2015).
Julie is a member of the Brussels Bar since 2008. She joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 2013 and became partner in 2022.
RECENT MATTERS
- Assistance to Befimmo, the second largest Belgian REIT on the granting of a 99-year leasehold on the large Brederode complex (located in Brussels and used mainly for offices) to the subsidiary of a Korean fund. This is considered by the professionals as one of the most significant office transaction in 2017 of a single asset on the Belgian real estate market.
- Assistance to a European large investment fund on the acquisition of the so-called ‘Arsenal’ office building located in Brussels.
- Assistance to one of the Belgium’s leading independent private and investment banks on the acquisition (through a share-deal) of a future senior housing residence.
