Liedekerke is committed to helping students expand their global experiences, which enables them to achieve a successful academic and legal career and gain international experience and insight. We express this commitment by granting an annual scholarship to a law student wishing to do an LL.M. in the U.S.

We are happy to announce that the first Liedekerke Student Scholarship has been awarded to KU Leuven student Michiel Fraussen.

Michiel is a law student with an excellent academic record. He obtained his bachelor of laws at the UHasselt and will obtain his master of laws at KU Leuven where he chose to specialize in business and tax law. Michiel did a summer internship in Liedekerke’s Corporate department and Tax department in July 2016. Our Corporate team is looking forward to welcoming him back after his LL.M. in 2018 to enroll in his bar internship.

Michiel has applied at six U.S. universities: University of Chicago, University of California Berkeley, NYU, University of Virginia, University of Pennsylvania and UCLA and has already been accepted to three programs. He is awaiting a response from Berkeley and NYU before making his final choice.

Congratulations Michiel! We are glad to be part of this wonderful opportunity that will allow you to expand your horizons and broaden your global perspective.
