To strengthen its Marketing and Business Development team our Brussels office is looking to recruit a Marketing and Business Development Manager.


General Summary


The Marketing & Business Development Manager is responsible for the implementation of Liedekerke’s strategy.

It requires an ability to manage a wide range of marketing and business development projects, targeting new and existing business, in line with Liedekerke’s strategy. It involves a high degree of people management and significant involvement with the lawyers and support services. This position is reporting to the Head of Operations.

 

Job Description

  • Working on strategic BD projects: developing and executing clear strategies and business plans for all practice groups.
  • Key client and sector research: provide information about clients, potential clients, sectors, geographic targets and identify opportunities for the firm.
  • Pitches: Managing the pitch and proposal processes, tracking wins and obtaining client feedback.
  • Brand Management: publicise the firm and involvement in profile raising activities.
  • Identify trends in the legal market and new opportunities.
  • Advisory role: work closely with all lawyers and develop strong relationships with them, becoming the lawyers’ trusted advisor and able to challenge them on client-related initiatives.
  • BD training: help the lawyers develop BD skills such as networking and pitching skills.
  • Managing a range of marketing & business development initiatives such as a marketing & business development training programme, events and communications.
  • Budgeting: managing all marketing & business spend for the firm.
  • Managing & coaching the marketing & BD team.


Your profile

  • Master Degree Preferred in economics, business, marketing, communications, law or a related field
  • A background of 6 to 10 years in marketing and business development within the Professional Services sector, preferably the legal sector
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English, French and Dutch
  • Confident and driven with the ability to gain the respect of senior stakeholders
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Proactive approach in coming up with ideas
  • Flexible attitude towards overtime and ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
  • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Experience with CRM (InterAction) or DMS is a plus
  • Strong detail orientation and tenacious follow-up skills
