John  Kirkpatrick

 John Kirkpatrick primarily specialises in tax law, both in advising clients and in administrative and judicial proceedings. As an attorney at the Court of Cassation since 1976, he also handles proceedings in all areas before that Supreme Court. He has been the President of the Cassation Bar (1994-1996) and was a professor of tax law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles from 1968 to 1998. Since 1998, he has been an assessor in the legislation section of the Council of State.

He is the author of numerous publications in the fields of private law, procedure and tax law. In the last of these, his principal work is "Le régime fiscal des sociétés en Belgique", a handbook of company tax law - 1st ed. 1992, 2nd ed. 1995), the latest supplemented and updated edition of which was written in collaboration with Daniel Garabedian (3rd ed. 2003, 604 pp.).

John Kirkpatrick holds a doctor of laws degree as well as a degree in economics and finance. He is one of the firm's founding partners.
