Thierry Tilquin specialises in corporate law and in financial law. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions (tender procedures, negotiation, advisory, etc.), investment structures and the setup of structures of collaboration between shareholders. He is consulted on a wide range of matters relating to corporate law and corporate finance law in general. Thierry assists both Belgian and foreign companies in both the listed and unlisted private sectors, as well as the Belgian State and public companies.

Thierry is also a professor for the Fiscal Management Masters degree at the Solvay Business School. He is the author of a treatise on mergers and demergers and is the co-author, with Valérie Simonart, of the Traité des sociétés (Treatise on Companies – three volumes published, other volumes in preparation) and has written many articles on company law.

He holds an economics degree (1980), a law degree (1981) and an economic law degree (1982) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He began practising law in 1981 and has been a partner at Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick since 1995.
