Christel Van den Eynden is a partner in the Corporate & Finance Department at Liedekerke. She specializes in mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments and cross-border transactions. Christel has advised clients in a wide variety of sectors, including logistics and port-related activities, energy and green energy, financial services, high tech, and the food industry. She has particular expertise in joint ventures, cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, and infrastructure projects. She also advises clients on issues of corporate governance, directors’ liability and issues of general corporate law. Her clients include both privately held and listed companies.

Since november 2007, Christel has been one of two contact partners in charge of Liedekerke’s representative office in London.

In addition to her law degree from the University of Antwerp, Christel has a Master of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (Bologna, Italy, and Washington, D.C.), where she was a Fulbright Scholar.

In October 2009, Christel was elected to the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi, i.e. the world’s leading association of independent law firms. She also heads Lex Mundi’s “Cross Border Transactions Practice Group” and is “Co-Chair of the Task Force for Leadership and Advancement of Lex Mundi’s Women’s Initiative”.

In June 2010, Christel was approved as a member of Women on Board (www.womenonboard.be), a nonprofit organization which primary goal it is to create a pool of women members to serve as members of the Board of Directors of Belgian companies.
