Kristien Carbonez is head of our London representative office. She liaises between London-based clients and law firm peers and the firm’s Brussels-based partnership on the full range of Belgian regulatory, corporate and commercial law issues consistent with the full-service nature of Liedekerke’s practice.

Kristien’s specific areas of expertise are national and transnational intellectual property law and European Community law and regulatory issues. Her IP experience has covered all forms of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, including patents, trade marks, trade secrets and confidentiality, copyright and designs. She also has significant litigation experience, including multi-jurisdictional patent litigation in Belgian courts and litigation before the European Court of Justice. Further, she has considerable experience in advising clients on compliance with EU environmental and other regulatory issues.

Kristien is a member of the Brussels and New York bars and is a registered European lawyer with the English Law Society. She holds LL.M. degrees from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Prior to joining Liedekerke, she was a senior associate in the Washington D.C. and London offices of a prominent US firm. She is fluent in English, French, Dutch and German.
