Damien  Verhoeven

Damien Verhoeven holds a law degree from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL – 2000). He joined Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick in 2000 as an associate within the team of Dirk Lindemans.
He is working in different fields of public and administrative law. His practice encompasses both advisory work and litigation.

He focuses primarily on energy law. He daily deals with energy law as such (electricity, gas, petrochemicals, etc.) at all market levels (generation or upstream supply, transmission, distribution, downstream supply, resale and consumption). He has a broad experience in cases related to the liberalisation and regulation of the markets. He is also practising the different administrative issues related to the energy sector (setting up, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, project development, different kind of permits related to facilities, etc.). Since 2005, he has been attending the meetings of the Energy Law Group, an European network of lawyers specialized in energy law.

He also focuses on town planning in both the Brussels and Walloon region, and more generally on issues related to ‘public real estate’ (i.e. environmental permits, retail permits, soil pollution, expropriation, concessions, etc.).

He regularly publishes in his area of specialisation in law reviews.
