Cécile Coune
Cécile Coune specialises in insurance law. Her activities cover all areas of insurance and reinsurance, particularly non-life (IARD) insurance, including professional liability insurance (“E&O” and “D&O”). For all of these areas, she advises, takes legal action and assists clients in complying with insurance regulations, in managing complex or large claims (both in pre-dispute and litigation phases), in the drafting and negotiation of insurance policies and distribution or partnership agreements. She practises in French, Dutch and English.
Cécile Coune is a member of AJA (Association des Juristes de l’Assurance - Association of Insurance Lawyers) and CRAB (Cercle Royal des Assureurs de Belgique - Royal Club of Belgian Insurers). She also contributes to the RDC (Revue de Droit Commercial - Commercial Law Review).
Cécile Coune graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law from Louvain Catholic University in 1985 and has over fifteen years experience in management positions in international insurance companies. She has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2004 and a partner in the law firm Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick since 1 January 2009.
